My Client is seeking to recruit a competent, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join their team in the abovementioned position at their packhouse in Robertson.

Job purpose: The purpose of the position is to maintain, install and perform preventative maintenance on all electrical components, DB boards, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planned scheduling creation and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out.
  • Increase the operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, manage time between failure and downtime reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans.
  • Responsible for building electrical panels from specifications, the wiring and set-up drives, electrical inspection and electrical fault finding and repairs of equipment.
  • Implement and manage continuous improvement and manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommend changes.
  • Adhere to daily and weekly checks and ensure Assetpool remains updated.
  • Execute the Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out.
  • Schedule internal work maximizing planned downtime and reduce unplanned downtime.

Requirements

  • Must have a red seal trade test qualification and 3 – 5 years’ experience working as an electrician.
  • Must have experience with automated machinery.
  • Must be in possession of a wireman’s license.
  • Experience in electrical fault finding and maintenance.

Previous experience in a similar environment (Fruit Packhouse) will be advantageous.

  • Experience in planning maintenance operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and numerical abilities are crucial.
  • Working knowledge of facilities, machines and equipment.
  • Effective handling of detailed information and consistent attention to detail
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
