Purpose: The HR Assistant provides support to the HR Officer in line with company policies, procedures and in full compliance with all legislative requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS

• Assist to maintain the complete employee life cycle from onboarding to exit

• Assist to administrate the recruitment and selection process

• Assist to ensure accurate and proper administration of files, employment contracts, promotions and transfers on the HR system and in line with processes

• Provide support with employee orientation, induction and training

• Provide support with the administration of Workers Committees and Housing Committees

• Assist to maintain employee records and statistics – leave, absenteeism, and productivity

• Assist with the administration and scheduling of disciplinary hearings

• Assist with HR and/ or statutory Compliance audits

• Assist with consolidating necessary information to compile HR related reports

• Provide administrative support with Workplace Skills Plans

• Assist with the planning and organizing of Staff Welfare, Corporate Social Initiatives and events

• Perform any other reasonable duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Matric

• Studying towards or possessing a qualification in human resource management, Industrial Psychology, or a related field would be ideal

• At least 1-3 years’ experience as an assistant

• Experience working within an operational environment would be advantageous

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Knowledge of relevant labour legislation

• Good Computer and Microsoft Office Suite skills • Good interpersonal and communication skills

• Good attention to detail

• Team player

• Ability to work well and adapt within a fast-paced environment

• High confidentiality

• Driven and a self-starter
